Kiddie Care Supplies – Affordable Play Equipment

Kiddie Care Supplies is a Carlow-based business which retails toys, art & craft supplies, books, Montessori equipment and more for children up to 6 years or older. Many items we offer are tactile or visual, with bright, vibrant colours, labels and descriptions. Children learn by association and have more fun if this process is stimulating and interesting. For role-play practice, we also offer items such as castles, barns and kitchen sets.

Touch plays a big part in education. Children with hearing issues often use touch to compensate – for instance music vibrates through speakers, so by touching the speaker the child can ‘hear’ the music. One mainly tactile product is the Feel A Pair board ( see image ) or bag with which the child must match the surfaces by touching them instead of looking at them.

Flash cards ( see image ) and posters can easily be used in school or at home. Again they are brightly coloured and simple to use. Currently you can get posters for anything from ABCs to Transport, Solar System to Healthy Eating and they are very affordable. So you can provide many visual ways of teaching and incorporate these into craft ideas to make tactile products.

For details on Kiddie Care products, please email sales <at> kiddiecare.ie or visit www.kiddiecare.ie to download a sales catalogue. On specific request, Ruth will try to source a particular product not currently in stock.
