Communicate, Educate, Integrate – Technology And Deaf Children In Mainstream Environments

IDK is hosting a seminar, “Communicate, Educate, Integrate – Technology and Deaf Children in Mainstream Environments” on October 10th, 2011, in Dublin.

This FREE event is for everyone with an interest in hearing, communication, language, learning and leveling technologies for deaf children/students in mainstream settings.

No prior understanding of deafness or of the technology solutions reviewed, is required for attendance since the presentations will be for a general audience.

Date: October 10th, 2011

Time: 9am to 1pm

Venue: Dublin 9

Delegates will learn about:

  • IDK – the event organisers (who we are, what we do, why this event?)
  • Listening Devices – what they are, and how they work.
  • Soundfield Systems – reducing ambient noise, for all children and students to listen.
  • Captioning / Digital Teaching – Irish schools’ experiences and live demonstration.

We are especially thrilled that a new product to be launched on the market will be showcased for the first time at our event, while QUED.TV has chosen our event to give its first public demonstration.

Real-time captioning and ISL interpretation will be provided for the event. The venue is accessible and tea/coffee will be served at the break.

Please contact info<at>irishdeafkids.ie for a registration form and/or further details of this seminar. Space is limited, so registration is essential.

Further details including agenda will be shared with all registered delegates.

I won’t be able to attend the event, but I am fascinated by the topic, so I was wondering if it was possible to see the material presented after the event. I teach part time for the VEC, and work as an engineer.

    Thanks,

    Ben
