The Telford Model For Early Intervention Services

Following a major review of audiology services in Ireland that revealed a history of neglect towards essential pediatric hearing services, a national newborn hearing testing programme (UNHS) began in Cork in April 2011. The test, to screen for deafness in newborn babies, enables earlier intervention for family-centered child-language development and a national roll-out of the UNHS

Summary Of Deaf Education Conference 4/3/2010

On March 4th, 2010, a new joint policy document was launched by the Catholic Institute of Deaf People, Trinity College Dublin, the Irish Deaf Society and DeafHear. This document is historic in being the first agreed approach to education and supports from deaf-led and other organisations providing services to the signing deaf community in Ireland.
