The Irish Deaf Kids venture (IDK) was a proud recipient of €2,000 in funding at the Dublin Bus Community Support Programme (CSP) awards ceremony on Thursday 16 September 2010, at Croke Park, Dublin.
TV personality Mark Kennedy, presented the award to IDK at the event, in the presence of Dublin Bus CSP patron Niall Quinn, ex-international footballer and Sunderland chairman.
IDK founder, Caroline Carswell, confirmed that the financial support from Dublin Bus will enable IDK and its partners to host a number of workshops for deaf and hard-of-hearing teenagers through late 2010 and early in 2011.
IDK is very grateful to its funders for investing in the personal development of these teenagers through the workshops. This training will immediately empower the teens to make positive changes in their everyday lives.
