The fourth Twitter #AVTchat hosted by Sound Advice for engaged parents, is shared here. Primary topics were ideas for home AVT sessions (a therapist typically will suggest these) and learning a second spoken language, when the first is actively learned.

Children with digital hearing-devices since infancy and whose families talk to them from age 0 to 3 years, can best learn a second, spoken language. Multiple spoken languages in fact can be learned once a child is proficient in a first language for spoken, reading and writing competencies. For dual-country families (of which Ireland has many), the benefit is clear.
