Testimonials
Between 2008 to 2014, the former IDK received several testimonials from families who benefited from our service.
Here is some feedback we were sent;
Your organization is clearly a leader in the field. The title of the IDK paper is excellent, it nails the challenges in one engaging sentence. As the parent of a profoundly deaf teen, I found the essay addresses the issues parents of deaf children face while offering advice in a gentle way.

People like yourselves and your colleagues help everyone reach their full potential. So, thank you for all your hard work.

Thanks again, I will be on your site a lot more from now on. Great info but more importantly to me, a very empowering and hopeful message is being put across.

You have managed to mainstream hearing issues to the public – which is a very difficult thing to do.

I have always found your organisation to be very helpful for all issues related to deafness. It is so handy to have advice on the other end of an email, and to speak to other parents/people through your website or facebook page. I hope your business goes from strength to strength, and you will be around to celebrate many more birthdays.

Although I don’t use Facebook very often, I have you on my page. I also get the e-zine, which is great. I always end up reading it for ages as one article leads to another and another. Thanks so much again for all the work at Irish Deaf Kids. It means a lot to have so much information.

Your Facebook page has been a great source of information for me. Thank you for your very kind support – it is fantastic to have someone to talk to, who understands our situation.

All deaf teenagers should attend an event like this. I really wish such events had existed in our earlier stages [of child deafness].

All we want is to be connected, parent-to-parent, and our children to each other. If it weren’t for you guys (IDK), I wouldn’t hear any news. Thanks for that, Caroline – I appreciate that you keep me informed.

I have a ten-year old daughter who’s hard of hearing. We chose not to mainstream her, and we’re happy with our decision. But making that decision in Ireland wasn’t easy. A lot of the information we found related to the UK or America. That’s why I think your website is important. It provides easy-to-access information that’s relevant to Ireland. I’m sure parents find it invaluable.
